Preguntas de ejemplo
Intenta responder antes de abrir la solución. Las preguntas están en el idioma del examen.
Pregunta 1
Dificultad fácil≈ 1 min
Make an appropriate sentence.
What did the doctor say?
She ______ .
totoldgettingmore restmeget
Ver respuesta y explicación
She told me to get more rest.
Explicación
"She told me to get more rest." The pattern is tell + person + to-infinitive: "told me to get". The object "more rest" comes after the verb "get".
The extra tile "getting" is wrong: after "to" the base form is needed ("to get"), and "told me getting" is ungrammatical.
Pregunta 2
Dificultad media≈ 1 min
Make an appropriate sentence.
I missed the meeting yesterday.
Could you ______ ?
decidedmedidwhattellthey
Ver respuesta y explicación
Could you tell me what they decided?
Explicación
"Could you tell me what they decided?" In an embedded question, the word order is statement order: question word + subject + verb ("what they decided"), not "what did they decide". "Tell" needs its object "me" right after it.
The extra tile "did" tempts you into question order ("what did they decide"), which is wrong inside an embedded question and would also need the base form "decide".
Pregunta 3
Dificultad difícil≈ 1 min
Make an appropriate sentence.
What did the advisor want to know?
She asked ______ .
was planningdidnext termto takewhich coursesI
Ver respuesta y explicación
She asked which courses I was planning to take next term.
Explicación
"She asked which courses I was planning to take next term." In reported questions the subject comes before the verb ("which courses I was planning"), not "which courses was I planning". The time phrase "next term" goes at the end.
The extra tile "did" is a trap: reported questions do not use do-support, and "did I was planning" is ungrammatical.
